I suppose a quick update on the beer front is probably called for. After all, this here bloggery-ish thing is supposed to be a promotional tool. So, here goes...
Porter (5.9%) is on it's way. We've brewed it, and it is now maturing nicely. There will be one or two early releases, but this is a beer that ages nicely over several months, so we won't be rushing it all out at once. On similar lines style wise, Oatmeal Stout 4.4% is our other 'winter' brew, and is due out in the trade very soon, albeit a month or two later than planned. Britannia 4.4% is on one of it's monthly forays out into the trade, and we are currently giving thought about the next special. We have talked about re-brewing Grey Partridge 4.1%, so that is the current favourite for the next special, but that will ineviatably change. Royston Red is set for some time in February, and then there is the two new semi-regular beers as well - firstly the as yet un-named 5.1% strong bitter (we've never really had a proper go at one you see), and the new bottled beer, details of which will be announced as soon as I've got the artwork sorted. It will be released in bottled form at the end of March (the will even be an 'official' launch, possibly with a bit of bottle breaking?), and the cask version will out in the trade 2-3 or so weeks before that. Suffice it say, I am very excited about it on a personal level because of childhood memories, but in the grand scheme of things no doubt most folk won't understand any of it...
We are still working out what the 'theme' for most of this years one-off beers will be - historic buildings now demolished was an early contender (no, really. Yes, I know, I know), but this has been dismissed. King Arthur & The Round Table is another idea sttill bubbling around (we thought about that one for 2009), as is something else on the transport theme (beyond trains & ships). We may even just revist old brews, but that can be a headache, as it never ceases to amaze me how many people there are who insist they can recall the precise taste of every pint they've ever had. In fact they are probably the same people who spout their opinion on everything on blogs...
