The field outside the brewery is often sown for the benefit of the local wildlife, and in 2008 it was used for a 'rough' wheat crop (ie sown in patches, and left to it's own devices).  This not only please the Lapwings early in the year when they nested in it (Lapwing chicks aplenty!), but we then had the resident vintage Combine Harvester (owned by a local farmer) used to harvest it, as shown here.
