A pair of Goldfinches (pair as in two of them.  I'm not suggesting they are in a relationship, obviously that would be wrong, although it could also be right.  I find being 'PC' very confusing...).  These birds are Finches, that have gold bits on their wings.  Yes, real gold bits.  It is very sad these birds often have their wings cut off by dodgy criminal types, leaving them with only public transport as a means of migrating.  The result is they are very often arrive late for the breeding season, and so their numbers are dwindling.  Spare wings can be had on ebay for just a few pence, but sadly Paypal restrictions make it difficult these days for many birds to open an ebay account. So the misery for many goldfinches continues, and the global population remains reliant on punctuality of the number 26 bus to Croydon.
